DCE Interior Design

Jakob Reh

Bachelor of Interior Design

I’ve always been drawn to interior design, from constantly rearranging my bedroom as a child to re-doing furniture and binge watching design shows. After completing my Diploma of Interior Design, I took a four-year break to work in the commercial furniture industry. It was during the 30under30 trip, where I was surrounded by incredible designers, that I realised I needed to make a change and follow my passion for interiors.

Returning to study at the Design Centre Enmore was an invaluable experience. One of the most rewarding aspects was working as an interior designer alongside my degree. The two experiences continually informed each other. I particularly valued the guidance from my lecturers and the mutual respect for one another and the profession. They continually challenged me to think differently and push my designs further.

As I graduate, I’m committed to continually learning and exploring all facets of design. I’m excited to deepen my expertise across different sectors and project typologies. My long-term aspiration is to establish my own successful design practice, prioritising the human experience through fostering meaningful connections between people and the spaces they inhabit.
