Tim Williams – Arup
Dr Tim Williams is recognised as a an expert on cities. Currently head of Cities advocacy for international architects Grimshaw , Tim was between 2017 and early 2020 head of cities in Australasia for global firm Arup. From 2011 to 2017 he was CEO of the Committee for Sydney and in that role was consulted by governments in Australia, UK and US and the London Mayors on urban policy and housing. Tim was from 2005 to 2010 a special /specialist advisor to 5 consecutive UK planning ministers where he helped develop the initiative which became the City Deals. Originally from Beddau , Tim is a qualified barrister with a Ph.D from the University of Cardiff , a degree from Cambridge and an honorary doctorate from Western Sydney University, where he is an adjunct professor.
