Anna Kolesnik
I am an interior designer with over seven years of professional experience in Ukraine and around one year of industry experience in Australia. My passion for design began through renovating my own apartment, where I discovered how thoughtfully designed spaces can influence atmosphere, emotions, and everyday life. I became deeply interested in the creative process of transforming interiors into spaces that feel calm, functional, and aesthetically balanced. That experience inspired me to pursue interior design professionally.
Throughout my career, I have developed a strong appreciation for timeless residential design and the emotional connection people have with their homes. I enjoy creating spaces that are not only visually refined but also comfortable, practical, and deeply personal. Design, for me, is about creating environments that improve the way people live and feel.
After moving to Australia, I recognised the differences between the Ukrainian and Australian design industries and wanted to better understand the local professional processes, standards, and project systems. Although I already had strong practical experience, I felt there was a gap between my previous industry background and the Australian design environment. This motivated me to study at TAFE, where I could strengthen knowledge, organise my existing skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the Australian approach to interior design.
Studying at TAFE helped me refine my creative process, improve my concept development skills, and better understand structured project workflows. It also allowed me to combine my previous professional experience with new industry knowledge and perspectives. I learned how to approach design more strategically while continuing to develop my own creative identity.
I consider myself a highly creative person who is constantly inspired to create new ideas and see them come to life. Alongside interior design, I am passionate about 3D visualisation and rendering, furniture design, lighting design, and potentially creating art in the future. I am particularly drawn to thoughtful, atmospheric spaces that combine strong aesthetics with functionality and emotional warmth.
My long-term goal is to establish my own design studio in Australia, specialising in high-end residential interiors and creative visualisation. I hope to create meaningful and timeless projects that reflect individuality, craftsmanship, and emotional connection while continuing to grow creatively within the design industry.
