DCE Interior Design

Oscar Groth

I’m a final-year Diploma of Interior Design student at Design Centre Enmore, with a deep-rooted connection to craftsmanship and the built environment. As the next generation of a family cabinetry and joinery business based in Sydney, I’ve spent years immersed in the practical side of design, working hands-on with materials, joinery detailing, and bespoke cabinetry from concept through to completion.

This foundation gives me a unique perspective. I don’t just design spaces, I understand how they’re built. My technical background in CAD and CAM software, combined with daily experience in spatial planning and material selection, means I approach interior design with both creative vision and practical realism.

My design philosophy centres on timeless design, materiality, and colour theory. I’m drawn to interiors that balance traditional elements with a modern sensibility, spaces that feel considered and enduring rather than trend-driven. I have a particular interest in how technology can be seamlessly integrated into cabinetry and joinery, creating functional surprises within beautifully crafted spaces.

Looking ahead, I’m working toward expanding my practice into full-service interior design, integrating bespoke joinery with comprehensive spatial design for residential projects. This portfolio represents the beginning of that journey: a collection of work that reflects my growing design voice, technical capability, and genuine passion for creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
