DCE Interior Design

Tahlia Andrew

Bachelor of Interior Design

I’m Tahlia, a graduating Interior Design student with a passion for creating spaces that tell meaningful stories and make people feel comfortable, supported and understood. Throughout my studies, I’ve developed a strong foundation in concept development, spatial planning, and materiality, with a particular interest in how interior environments shape emotional well-being. I am drawn to projects that place people at the centre, and I believe that thoughtful design can restore confidence, connection and a sense of possibility during challenging moments in life.

My approach is grounded in curiosity and empathy. I enjoy exploring how design decisions influence behaviour, mood and perception, and I strive to create interiors that feel honest and purposeful. During my degree, I have worked across a wide range of projects, from wellness and recovery environments to hospitality and workplace design. Each experience has helped me refine my ability to translate conceptual ideas into spaces that are functional, beautiful and responsive to user needs.

One of my most defining projects is the Eden Breast Cancer Wellness and Recovery Centre, where I developed a multi-level interior experience shaped by the concept of Exhale. This project deepened my understanding of healing environments and reinforced my belief that design can support people on life-changing journeys.

As I move into the industry, I’m excited to continue growing, collaborating and contributing to projects that prioritise human experience. I hope to bring warmth, sensitivity and a strong conceptual voice to every space I design.
