DCE Interior Design

Mia Davia

Diploma of Interior Design

My interest in interior design was sparked by a deep appreciation for how spaces influence the way we feel, think, and live. Growing up, I was always drawn to the  details, how the layout of a room could affect its energy, how light transformed a  space throughout the day, and how the right combination of colour and texture could  bring a sense of comfort or inspiration.

As I began formally studying interior design, I discovered how much I enjoyed both the creative and technical sides of the process. From learning about spatial planning and materials to working with design software and producing full-scale presentations, I  found excitement in every stage of bringing a vision to life. I especially enjoyed the  challenge of designing with purpose, creating spaces that are not only visually  compelling but also functional, sustainable, and tailored to the people who use them.  Collaborating with peers, receiving feedback, and refining my ideas taught me how  much design is both a personal and shared journey.

Looking ahead, I’m eager to continue growing as a designer by working on real-world  projects that make a positive impact. I’m especially interested in residential and  boutique commercial interiors, where I can help create spaces that reflect  individuality, support well-being, and tell a unique story. Whether joining a creative  team or taking on independent projects, I’m excited to continue learning, designing,  and contributing to thoughtful and meaningful environments.
