DCE Interior Design

Danielle Jaafar

Diploma of Interior Design

I am an emerging interior designer/architect whose practice is driven by conceptual clarity, sculptural form, and a deep interest in how spatial identity is constructed. My work often blends brutalist sensibilities with raw materiality, structural honesty, and bold geometry with post-modern expressive techniques that embrace abstraction, narrative, and unexpected contrast. This fusion allows me to create interiors that feel both intentional and unconventional, grounded in theory yet rich in personality.

Throughout my studies at TAFE, I refined my ability to translate conceptual ideas into spatial outcomes, developing a methodology that moves confidently from research and ideation into technical resolution. Working across detailed documentation, material exploration, and digital modelling strengthened my understanding of how form, mass, and texture can be orchestrated to create meaningful experiences.

I’m particularly drawn to spaces that challenge traditional boundaries, using tension, asymmetry, and sculptural interventions to shape the atmosphere. My approach prioritises conceptual depth designing environments that provoke thought, hold emotional resonance, and respond authentically to the people they serve.

As I move forward into architecture, I aim to continue exploring the intersections between brutalism, post-modernism, and contemporary interior practice. My goal is to create work that is rigorous, expressive, and architecturally driven, translating strong ideas into spaces that feel distinctive, purposeful, and undeniably bold.
