Diploma of Interior Design

Born in Chile, I earned my Architecture degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, a program known for its poetic, hands-on approach to design. Observing and sketching urban landscapes is essential to my process.

My early career provided a solid foundation in construction detailing, managing multi-disciplinary teams to transform spaces, balancing design goals with cost-efficiency. My studies in Interior Design at TAFE NSW further refine my art-driven approach, allowing me to create spaces that are highly functional..

Perspectiva Sydney Hotel

The Perspectiva Sydney Hotel transforms a warehouse at 23-33 Mary St, Surry Hills, into a boutique hotel, enhancing guest experiences while aligning with the brand concept of discovering new perspectives on both the city and oneself.

The design captures the hotel’s philosophy—”Discover a Different Perspective”— by creating spaces that reveal new angles and viewpoints. Through the thoughtful use of textures, materials, light, and reflective surfaces, the
Perspectiva Sydney Hotel invites guests to experience both the city and themselves in fresh and transformative ways.

Marrickville Residence

This project reimagines a residential home in Marrickville, NSW, focusing on three key areas: the staircase, kitchen, and bathroom. The design concept emphasizes basic geometric shapes—spheres, cubes, circles, squares, and cylinders—paired with a striking red and green color palette. Material selections prioritize sustainability and functionality, incorporating natural timbers, terrazzo finishes, and Moroccan-style ceramic tiles. These elements work together to create a cohesive and visually dynamic interior that balances boldness with practicality, enhancing the home’s overall aesthetic and livability.

Castle Hill Residence

The Hills residence, situated in Castle Hill, is set for a comprehensive renovation, with a primary focus on three key areas: the living and alfresco space, master bedroom, and the kitchen and laundry.

The proposed layout for the interior considers leaving bathrooms close to existing ones and using as much as possible the existing rooms.

The design searches for a balance of materials and shapes. Simple lines balanced with organic shapes.

There are 2 Japanese walnut trees in the project, one located in the northern patio and the other near the dining place. Providing shade during the summer and letting the sunlight pass during the winter.

Rip Curl PopUp Store

The pop-up store is designed based on the original concept of the brand, “the search,” a way of being that combines adventure, sports, the sea, and the constant pursuit of these types of experiences. That’s why I envision the space as a slice of beach life, but in the middle of the city on a bustling street like Pitt Street, where office workers mingle with tourists. I go out to observe again the way of being at the beach, how the body is positioned on the sand, the journey a surfer takes when catching a wave, and the shapes that the waves take on.

The design features simple shapes, without products. I envision two moments to attract passersby who are quickly walking through the area. I thought it appropriate to design a way to slow down their pace, first through a seating area in one of the corners, where the backrests have a slightly steeper angle than the existing benches. Then, the space provided by the curve to lean back. The brand name appears backlit, serving as the only source of illumination.

Chris Harding Exhibition

The exhibition design is conceived based on the paintings to be exhibited, which mainly depict landscapes with trees and bushes.
I went out to observe forests and how perspectives change between the positions of the tree trunks. Everything unfolds at once before the eyes, but at the same time, one must approach a particular tree to see its details.
Hence, the idea of setting up an open circuit exhibition arises, where artworks are displayed, and it is possible to see several at a single glance, like a forest.

The structure supporting them consists of 3 sets formed by 3 posts of different diameters. Each painting is catalogued and arranged according to its width. Paintings that exceed the standard measurements have their own structural design and act as focal points within the open circuit.
