Diploma of Interior Design
Since arriving in Australia from Indonesia eighteen months ago I have completed the Certificate IV and the Diploma of Interior Design. Bringing my culture and new design knowledge acquired here, I believe that I have a point of difference to bring to my employer’s workplace.
My passion for interior design is driven by my interest in architecture and love for the craft. My projects completed thus far have developed my understanding of the use of materials, spatial planning and psychology of design. I am very energetic, enthusiastic and focused on the design process.
I sincerely want to further hone my skills in a collaborative work environment. I am good at solving problems and always take great pride in my work. I believe my skills would be an asset to this industry’s objectives and projects.
I look forward to the challenges ahead and to becoming an invaluable part of my employer’s workforce.
‘The Passenger’ is targeted towards the locals in Surry Hills and family tourists from all around the world. Hotel guests are introduced to a whole experience within a building. Every nook and cranny in the space is designed to give a sense of journey with the help of exploration in materiality and design elements. Hotel facilities include an artisanal workshop space, a lobby, a rooftop bar, hotel rooms and four accommodation facilities with different conceptual purposes and experiences.
The conceptual client, Stanley, is a DJ who is extroverted, unpredictable and extremely creative. He likes to shock and surprise, loves music and has a very active social life. His client profile is reflected to the concept of this project, ‘Soundwave’. The concept implements Stanley’s element of surprise, social life and privacy by the exploration of organic design elements. Each level is categorized into a public level, a private relaxation level, and a private entertainment level.
The conceptual client, Peter Weir, is a film director who has an interest in archaeology. Combine these two interests and the concept ‘Set in Ruins’ is formed. The concept is visualised by having a space within a space, or a movie set within a ruin site. Materiality differentiates the areas, by setting a rocky, rustic and natural mood for the ruins, and a mid-century modern, contemporary and minimalistic design for the movie set. The house is also occupied by a carer who lives in a self-contained unit below the main building.
