Part of my final semester, Hotel 1973, is a school project consisting of a restaurant, bar, and 12 hotel rooms. The 12 hotel rooms are divided into 4 types, each with its own design asthetic.
Inspired by the Mediterranean vacations of the 1970s and 1980s, the hotel evokes a feeling of nostalgia and joy. The hotel infuses modern elements across the design to bring it into the 21st century.
As part of my Diploma of Interior Design, this student project required the design of a cafe and lobby space in the front third of the Design Nation showroom. The cafe needed to seat 16-20 people and have its own entrance, and the lobby must include access to the first-floor offices and a window display for Design Nation.
The space can not exceed past the third pillar, and the facade must remain the same.
Located on Edgeware Rd, the tiny house is a terrace house that will service a couple of empty nesters interested in downsizing.
The original terrace house must remain in the style of the street. A new addition has been added to the back of the property. Terrace houses flank the property, meaning additional windows were not added to the side of the house.
