In a bid to re-think how a city infrastructure could collaborate with the creative industries, the Verb Syndicate team spent the next decade collaborating with government, academic institutions, tourism boards, developers and cultural planners over a range of projects to build artistic capability at scale. The result was a flurry of arts and music festivals, a hive of retail and tourism activity and a booming, self-sufficient cultural scene, largely driven and supported by those in the Wollongong wider area.
