Interior designers in the twenty-first century must consider how and why a space is used. Considering the state of 2020 with a global pandemic and a shift in how we work and live, the future of design revolves around the reconfiguration of the built environment. Designers must look past the materialistic aspect of design and focus on the functionality of a space, exploring how an individual utilises, survives and thrives in a space.

The future of design is the innovation of structure and sustainability to create timeless and efficient designs.

I currently work in the retail sector, using the skills and knowledge gained in my study to help my clients to choose the right furniture and the materials to create a beautiful home that is both sustainable and nurturing. The future is unpredictable, so designers must aim high and be better than yesterday. My interior design work will continue be inspired by people and the environment as the future evolves.

I am an intuitive and adaptive interior designer with a strong respect for the creative traditions of my Italian heritage. I will use my skills in communication, collaboration, problem solving and organisation to develop interior spaces that foster wellbeing without adversely impacting on the natural environment.

Our future heavily relies on making change to the way we live, create, design, interact and communicate today. After an incredibly challenging year and a global pandemic, we have grown and overcome many issues that I believe will shape how we work and conduct business in the future. Our future will have an even greater interaction with technology, connecting people from all over the world to collaborate, grow and develop new working methods. Acknowledging the importance of sustainable design will help to shape our built environment for future generations

I hope to own a joinery factory of my own in the near future. I would love to travel the world with my man and my two beautiful girls. I am looking forward to a happy and healthy future.

As Peter Drucker has famously said, “The best way to predict the future is to create”. Design is the process of envisioning and planning the creation of a built environment. My aim is to ensure it is user centred, as users are at the heart of every design. My previous work as an interior design sales consultant, advising customers on furniture and helping them to design their homes taught me the importance of creating solutions for people that address both wellbeing and sustainability. As an emerging designer, I believe it is my role to make positive change for the practice of interior design by anticipating and preparing for the future.

I am extremely excited about my new career direction into interior design. My practice seeks to create holistic, sustainable designs that look back to the sustainable traditions of vernacular architecture, weaving through innovative concepts and creations that will meet the future spatial needs of my clients.

The future is a series of endless possibilities that may ultimately extend beyond the practice of interior design. I have pursued the creative passion I have had since I was fifteen years old and I am beyond proud of what I have achieved. My future is undecided, though my studies have equipped me well to choose where I go and who I want to be.
