I believe in designing for our future generations by encouraging and using sustainable principles that can preserve our world for many more years of excellence in continuing designs.

The user experience will remain at the forefront of interior design as will sustainable and environmentally responsible design. Design will improve connectivity and safe interaction while remaining sensitive to comfortable surroundings. Interactive digital spaces will grow for the design community as well as within the tradeshow environment which will require a strong digital presence. Homes and businesses will seek to functionally transform their spaces into efficient sanctuaries especially during uncertain or unrestful times. Corporate meeting rooms and social spaces will expand under controlled health and design guidelines.

I believe COVID-19 has had a major impact on the future of interior design. With people spending more time inside their homes and in some instances in isolation, multitude of design considerations have now become more significant than ever. The designer has to prioritize things like shared areas, personal gyms, home offices, children’s play rooms and their online learning spaces while putting crucial emphasis on energy efficiency.

The future of design will be the designers who can push the limits of design and keep a constant focus on design innovation, embrace breakthrough developments, work around machine intelligence and create designs which take us to the future of ours.

Trusting in the future again, getting back into experimentation, innovation, and futurism.

What is future of the design? To me – it is about accessibility and appreciation of a wider audience as well as embracing multifunctionality and sustainability in the materials we choose to use.

The future of design is influenced by the impact of the past, the needs of the present and mostly the flexibility to adapt to the predictions of the future. We need to take advantage of the quick, developing technological advancements in order to approach sustainable design in the most efficient and innovative ways.

The future of interior design involves designers reinventing new ways that technology can be used to generate more efficient design solutions that respond to complex design challenges that the future brings, transforming the way designers think, communicate and operate.

Sustainable design, utilising new technologies and smarter methods of production are all important topics of future design; But for me a real appreciation for subtle surface textures, the use of light to evoke emotion and a sense of belonging, connection and a focus on community are increasingly important.
