The future starts from us “The unpredictability of the future means absolutely nothing to the dreams of an ambitious positive mind”
The hopes are the future. No more illness! No more fighting! Bring back peace to Hong Kong, my lovely hometown.
The future of interior design involves designers reinventing new ways that technology can be used to generate more efficient design solutions that respond to complex design challenges that the future brings, transforming the way designers think, communicate and operate.
With advancements in technology we need to constantly improve our computer skills.
Unity and Individuality.
With all the societal changes in the world, we are encouraged to reflect our relationships within the social community and self-reflect our personal lives. Future designs will create more humanity and individuality; we do not have to fit the mould anymore but can express who we are.
Some say, “Change is the future”, others say, “Change is the only constant.” I think the future of human beings is emerging stronger, smarter, and more resilient through innovative design solutions.
More conscious consumption and local sourcing
Design is ever evolving, responding the huge challenges created by new technology and societal changes as we have seen in 2020 with COVID-19 the impact of which has not yet fully played out. Increasingly people are looking to utilise their spaces for a specific purpose whether it be reflective or social and collaborative, as designers we have to entice people into using the space by providing them with a reason to do so.
The future is more empathetic. I hope we are reflecting and learning from our experiences to redesign spaces we live and gather that help people connect and unify better. Investing in spaces that are considered, durable and kind to people and the earth alike.
The world will be completely different after 2020. A good designer is someone who can acknowledge existing solutions and considers future implications, all whilst creating new solutions. Designers research and adapt to new and challenging situations.
The future of design is creating a simpler way of life. Simplicity works with new smart technologies, where everything you need is at the palm of your hands. This gives people the idea that they are controlling the way they live and use products and spaces, bringing peace of mind. Multifunctional products and spaces are necessary to fit into people’s busy lives and create a calm sense of purpose and belonging in this world.
How we want to live our life in the future will depend on what the future of the design is. Sustainability will be the main topic all around the world and in industry, not only for interior design.
Sustainability, repurposing products, using natural materials . As designers we will have to be more inventive and original, constantly evolving and growing.
It is proposed the future will be changing significantly in design as the minority’s perspectives are recognised, colour and material’s psychological and cultural meaning to interior environments are taken into deep consideration. Marginalised groups will now have their narratives and perspectives represented more in design.
Bring together the chaos of life with the aesthetics of living
Listen to the voice of yesterday, see beyond the horizon of tomorrow, and start sketching now! In this second the future is already the past.
The decisions we make on how we design will decide our future. By using products that are sustainably and ethically made and understanding the whole lifecycle of a product. We must think about how it will impact us socially, environmentally and culturally.
The future of design is influenced by the impact of the past, the needs of the present and mostly the flexibility to adapt to the predictions of the future. We need to take advantage of the quick, developing technological advancements in order to approach sustainable design in the most efficient and innovative ways.
Do not allow what you cannot do, to interfere with what you can do – you can reach your dreams faster, doing things you enjoy and are good at.
