Experiential lighting with Donn Salisbury from Electro Light

Founded in Melbourne in 2004, Electrolight lighting design practice has grown to include studios in Sydney, San Francisco and London (branded 18 Degrees). Electrolight has designed lighting for environments as diverse as Canva’s workplace in Surry Hills NSW, the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and the QT Hotel, New Zealand. They are renowned for designing the lighting of MONA Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania.

The team hails from backgrounds as diverse as architecture, interior design, industrial design, engineering and fine arts. As the team says ‘We believe that light has the power to change lives. Regulating our bodies, fueling our emotions and inspiring our soul. We are intrinsically fascinated by the way in which we see and experience the world around us. Central to that is vision – and by definition – light’.
